Originally from Buenos Aires, I earned my degree and my first license in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of La Plata in 1991.
Motivated by a love of learning and travel, I first visited San Francisco in 1995 and have called it home since 2001.
Over the past 30 years, I’ve developed a broad and diverse architectural background, contributing to projects in the United States and abroad across a wide range of building types and scales. My background has been shaped by projects of varying scale and complexity, from international airports, healthcare facilities, and educational buildings to commercial environments, workplace interiors, renovations, and modernization projects. That experience has given me a strong foundation in design, technical expertise, building codes, permitting, construction documentation, consultant coordination, and problem-solving within the real constraints of budget, schedule, and construction. It has also given me a deep understanding of how buildings are designed, coordinated, approved, and ultimately built—experience that I bring to each project to help shape clear, well-resolved solutions and guide the work confidently from design through construction.

In 2024, I founded Marcelo H. Farias + Associates Architecture to create spaces that reflect my clients’ vision, needs, and aspirations. Outside of my practice, I enjoy playing guitar, painting, photography, and traveling, all of which continue to inform the way I see and experience the built environment. I’m fluent in English and Spanish and have a working knowledge of Italian, allowing me to communicate comfortably with clients from diverse backgrounds.
