I'm originally from Buenos Aires and earned my degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of La Plata in 1991. Motivated by a love of learning and travel, I first visited San Francisco in 1995 and became a resident in 1998. Over the past 25 years, I've developed a rich and diverse background in architecture, contributing to a wide range of projects and building types—both in the United States and abroad. My experience spans large-scale and smaller developments, giving me a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that come with each project.
In 2024, I founded Marcelo H. Farias + Associates Architecture to create spaces that reflect my clients’ vision, needs, and aspirations. Outside of my practice, I enjoy playing guitar, painting, and photography. I'm fluent in English and Spanish and have a working knowledge of Italian, which brings a multicultural perspective to my design process and communication style.
Our mission is to provide collaborative, client-focused architectural services that result in functional, creative, cost-effective, and environmentally responsive design solutions.
I founded this studio to bring each client’s vision to life - creating meaningful, functional, and inspiring architecture in a way that enhances the surrounding community, respects local heritage, and supports the environment through thoughtful design.
My professional experience continues to shape both my design sensibility and technical approach, forming the foundation of the work I now pursue through my independent practice. Collaborating with leading San Francisco architecture firms, I’ve cultivated a holistic methodology that balances creativity, precision, and sensitivity to both cultural and physical context—expertise I now bring to every project in service of client success.
